CM announces for construction of 8 new GIDCs in the State and Multi Storey Shed in 5 Districts and ‘Model Estate’

CM digitally allots 264 plots of GIDC at Charupin Patan through computerized draw

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupanihas made an important announcement for the industrial sector of the state stating that Gujarat is ready to take the lead in developing the industrial sector to make our Prime Minister’s dream of making India a five trillion economy come true. He digitally allotted 264 plots of GIDC atCharup of Patan District through computerized draw.

We are providing a conducive environment to the factory-manufacturing units in the state for the development of the distinctive product of each district in Gujarat and to realize the determination of One District One Product.

We want to develop an economic circle with an aim to provide opportunities to several people through large number of MSME units. The CM announced the setting up of new industrial Estates in 987 hectares in 8 districts of the state. Out of all the 8 Estates, the Morbi Modelestate will be formed in an area of 500 hectares equipped with all the advanced infrastructural as well as ancillary facilities.

MSME sector will get 2570 plots of 500 to 2000 square meters and 337 plots of 10 thousand to 50 thousand square meters with these new GIDC Estates.Jalotra-Banaskantha’s marble cutting / polishing industry, Sheikhpat-Jamnagar’s brass industry, Morbi’s ceramic industry, Kadjodra-Gandhinagar’s food-agro industry, Patan’s auto ancillary industry, Nagalpar-Rajkot’s medical device industryas well the engineering industries of Anand and Mahisagar will be benefited through this.

These new Estates will provide Rs. 1223 crore capital investment and 20,000 new jobs in future, said CM.

In another important announcement, the CM said that the government has decided to set up Multi Storey Shed in the existing 9 industrial estates of the state to boost MSMEs.
360 new multi-storey sheds will be constructed in five districts Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Which will result generation of capital investment of around Rs. 100 crore and 1 thousand new job opportunities.He further said that the existing estates of Dahej, Saykha, Ankleshwar, Halol, Sanand-2, Vapi and Lodhika are also planned to be developed as ‘model estates’ with all the basic and high-tech facilities.

The CM said that the state’s industrial estates-GIDC now have infrastructure built on a ‘plug and play’ basis.

During the establishment of Gujarat, there were only 6 thousand MSME units in the state.After the development journey of last two decades, today there are 35 lakh MSME units functioning in the state.

In addition to providing raw material, skilled manpower and logistical support to the industries located in GIDC Estate, GIDC is also working to make the proper market available.state government reviews the working policies of GIDC timely.

“People’s expectations are high as the state government makes quick decisions”, said CM.

On the occasion GIDC officials from Patan, Anand, Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, Banaskantha, Morbi and Ahmedabad districts, Patan GIDC Chairman Mr.Balwant Singh Rajput joined online.Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Mr. M.K.Das and M.D. of GIDC. Mr. M. Thennarasan joined from Gandhinagar.-PIB
