Sugar is one of the most consumed items, especially in India and this has resulted in an increased risk of various diseases. As per a recent survey that was conducted by World Obesity Federation (WOF) by 2030 everyone in five people will be suffering from obesity. It means more than a thousand million people will become obese.

One of the leading dieticians and detox expert Dt Sunny Gupta says, “When you eat excess sugar, the extra insulin in your bloodstream can affect your arteries all over your body.” He further goes on to add, “It causes their walls to get inflamed, grow thicker than normal and stiffer. This can lead to heart diseases like heart failure, heart attack, strokes and various others.”

Today people are habitual to have desserts and sweets after meal. Dt Sunny Gupta shares with us the four types of sugar, which are – Glucose (pure sugar), Fructose (fruit sugar), Sucrose (table sugar) and Lactose (dairy sugar).

In his six years of practice on more than thousands of patients across India and overseas, he has observed a common thing that a lot of youngsters in the age group of 25-35 and quite a few teenagers of age group 12-20 are facing diabetic problems and insulin resistance problems too. Moreover, many women today are suffering from PCOD/ PCOS just because of their messy lifestyle and habits that include overeating, eating junk food, improper sleep cycle and not working out or exercising.

Dt Sunny says, “56 is the most common name for sugar that is usually used by marketing companies.”But normal people cannot understand that they are in trap to gain more weight to addict them with more and more sugar.  He further adds that sugar is truly dangerous than any kind of other drug in world as it is totally addictive and a super trap. That’s why he calls it a “Holy Drug” which is harmful for all.

Dt Sunny Gupta shares some solutions to overcome this problem. Sugar intake in the form of Carbohydrates, Dairy products, Desserts, Coco, Cold drinks, Sweets, Cakes, Pastry etc should be avoided. Instead, one should satisfy their sugar craving by consuming fruits, dates, figs and homemade chikkis. One must go for walk to accomplish at least 6000 steps daily.
