JD Design Awards 2025 took place on 23rd January 2025 at The Koramangala Club, Bengaluru, and opened up to an incredible sight of creativity, innovation, and expressions in culture. The theme “Live in the Moment” made the event a unifying ground for fashion enthusiasts, industry leaders, and creative visionaries who celebrate artistry in emerging designers. The collections were brought to life on the runway very beautifully, capturing all the authenticity and beauty of “live in the moment.”
The event was a platform for individuality, cultural heritage, sustainability, and experimental design where the actual unique talents of the designers from the JD Institute of Fashion Technology materialized through their creations and were presented in a harmonious blend of technical mastery of pattern-making, innovative concepts, and thoughtful storytelling.
Designer Showcase
Presenting collections in a diversity of themes and directions- including esports and gaming culture, philosophies in Japanese concepts like balance and purpose, urban sophistication in cities, the impermanence of life, the skate culture, GenZ visions, avant-garde aesthetics and many more that beautifully displayed the collections and represented the emerging designer’s creativity and dedication.
Runway Shows
The runway presentations were simply spectacular and presented new, innovative techniques in pattern-making, draping, and creative renditions of artistry. Every presentation was a living testament to the craftsmanship and technical prowess of the designers and left the audience in awe of their talent and vision.
The extended partnership with TheStyle.World was the content partner and Lakme Academy as the make-up partner boosted the success of the event. Ms. Suma directed the show, guaranteeing each sequence was theatrical and immersive, bringing an unforgettable experience to the spectators.
Fashion Designers in the Spotlight:
The JD Design Awards 2025 celebrated a few meritorious designers and their collections, while applauding them also took back acclaim. Those included:
Asha Pavithra, Gokulapriya R, and Nithya K A have designed “Black Mirror”, which is an avant-garde collection inspired by the dynamism of the world related to esports and gaming culture. This defines creativity which has been awarded with the “Best Avant-Garde Collection”.
Amulya D H, Bindhu Krishna K, and Pooja Iranna Gotur presented “Ikigai,” the timelessly beautiful manifestation of Japanese philosophy in balance and purpose. Their mindful designs won the “Best Creative Adaptation” award.
P V Nagaimpana, Chalsi K J, and Firdous Fathima presented “Urban Bloom,” a collection of urban sophistication marrying with nature’s harmony. Their futuristic designs were rewarded with the “Best Fashion Forward Collection” award.
Thakkar Harshita Atul, Thakkar Hrishita Atul, and Akriti Negi showed “Mujo,” a beauty of impermanence and capturing the fluidity of life. This collection received the “Best Creatively Executed Collection” award.
Triveni R. and Paulina Hemish I showed “The Boundless Skaters,” an edgy and rebellious collection highlighting the fearless spirit of skating culture. Their innovative approach to sustainability earned them the “Sustainable Fashion Champion” award.
The designs of the house seemed like magic from an illusion, a Trompe l’oeil. V Shashank and Bhoomika Patel left the jury dumbfounded with “Maya,” inspiration from an illusory design. This received the highest jury marks to be crowned as “Ready-to-Wear Innovative Collection.”
C Prerana, Sania Khan, and B G Dhanusiya gave a style of imitated art. That is a bold mixing of nostalgia in aestheticism of a Gen-Z vision. For that, “The Style Innovator Award” awaits.

Since it was first initiated, the JD Design Awards has been a launchpad for over 50,000 aspiring designers across India. This year was special since the event started in January, continuing its legacy of providing participants with a prestigious platform to showcase their talents.
