CM launches various farmer-friendly programs on “Kisan Sanman Divas” from Kutch

Farmers from more 1400 villages of the state will get electricity in the daytime

Upliftment of farmers and agriculture is the foundation of development in Gujarat- CM

Gandhinagar, Gujarat: On the occasion of the successful completion of five years of good governance of the state government under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani& Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitin Patel, the fifth day of celebration of “PanchVarshApniSarkarna- Sauna Saththi Sauna Vikasna” has been dedicated for welfare of the farmers. Upliftment of farmers and agriculture is the foundation of development in Gujarat and State Government supports farmers throughout all the stages of Agriculture, starting from sowing seeds to sales.

Mr. Rupani on “KisanSanman Divas” launched various farmer-friendly programs from kutch-Bhuj. He said that our government is committed for the welfare of the farmers. State government has worked tirelessly for the welfare prosperity of the farmers. Pointing the opponents of farmer welfare, he stated that, we are committed to make our farmers Happy and prosperous with various farmer welfare schemes.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launched JyotigramYojana in Gujarat and our government has taken concrete decisions towards the progress of farmers by taking several decisions for farmer’s welfare.

Detailing on the celebration of “KisanSanman Divas” Mr. Rupani said that, a historic step has been taken in the interest of farmers by launching KisanSuryodayaYojana so that farmers get electricity in the daytime for irrigation. Now on farmers from more 1400 villages of the state will get electricity in the daytime. Encouraging farmers,he said that this historical decision to provide electricity will bring a new dawn in the lives of Gujarat farmers. Earlier, people had to migrate for water in some areas of Kutch and Saurashtra, no one would have imagined that Narmada waters could be provided for irrigation.

Mr. Rupani announced that Krushi University and Veterinary College would be set up in Kutch.We also want to make progress and encourage animal husbandry in Kutch. We want to make Gujarat a role model state with the Upliftment of farmers.

In last five years, five and a half lakh connections have been provided in the agricultural sector. Procurement of crops worth Rs. 19,000 crores at MSP in the last 5 years to ensure that farmers get right price for their valuable crops.The government has provided loans at zero per cent interest and introduced a number of schemes, including seven steps for farmer welfare, to connect farmers to the mainstream of development.

An agricultural package of Rs. 9,000 crore has been given for agricultural welfare. CM urged the farmers to take advantage of the state government’s agricultural schemes to promote value-added farming and natural farming. Plans are step to set up 51 FPOs in Gujarat under the guidance of the Prime Minister. So far 51 FPOs have been set up and the government plans to create 100 FPOs, added CM.

Agriculture Minister Mr. RC Faldu said that the state government has worked for public service and the welfare of farmers for five consecutive years. GoG has always concerned about the farmers and farm produces and has introduced KantaliVadYojana for providing wired fencing to prevent damage to their crops. More than Rs. 29,000 crore has been subsidized to farmers in the power distribution system in five years. More than Rs 19,000 crore has been provided for fertilizer and Rs 625 crore for mechanized tractors.

In the virtual presence of the Chief Minister, more than 43 crore agricultural oriented benefits were distributed in the celebration of “KisanSanman Divas”at 120 places across the state. Sardar Patel Award-winning farmers were honored at a function held at the grounds of Varsani High School in Bhuj, Kutch. Assistance and distribution of agricultural schemes were made on the occasion under seven steps for farmer welfare. Mr. Rupani flagged off 14 vehicles of farmers under KrishiParivahanYojana. Mr. Rupani also released a book presenting the success stories of progressive farmers engaged in organic natural farming. The Foundation stone for seven godowns for the farmers of the Seed Corporation was laid by CM.

Principal Secretary to Department of Agriculture and EnergyMrs. Mamta Verma delivered the welcome key address.

On this occasion MP Mr.VinodbhaiChavda, MLA’sMr.VirendrasinhJadeja, Nimaben Acharya, District Panchayat President SmtParulben Kara, BJP President Keshubhai Patel, NagarpalikaPresident Ghanshyambhai Thakkar, Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Chief principal secretary to the CMk. kailashnathan, Secretary to the Department of Agriculture Mr. Manish Bhardwaj and other senior officials, Collector, DDO and farmers remained present.
